11+ Mental Maths

Mental maths in the 11+ is rarely tested as a separate section, but it underpins every question on the paper. Children who can do 12 × 25, 10% of 84, or ½ of 360 in their heads spend more time thinking and less time calculating — and finish the paper with time to check.
