11+ Algebra Basics

Algebra in the 11+ is gentle. The questions usually take the form of a missing-number puzzle (3 + ☐ = 11) or a simple equation with a letter (x + 4 = 10). Children who are confident with inverse operations handle these without difficulty; children who try to 'solve by guess' run out of time on the harder variants.
