BIDMAS — Brackets, Indices, Division, Multiplication, Addition, Subtraction — sets the order in which arithmetic operations must be carried out. Children who don't internalise the rule typically work left-to-right and arrive at confidently wrong answers. It is one of the most marks-per-minute reliable topics to drill.
