11+ Prefixes & Suffixes

Knowing prefixes and suffixes lets a child decode unfamiliar words on the fly. A child who recognises 'pre-' (before) and 'view' can work out 'preview' even on a first encounter; a child who knows '-able' converts familiar verbs into adjectives without needing to memorise each one. This is one of the highest-leverage vocabulary investments in 11+ preparation.
